If your procedure was done 10-15 years ago, prior to today’s technology, possibly you were once pleased with but it may now look a bit strange.
The grafts may have been placed amongst your existing hair creating a natural result but over time you have continued to lose your non-transplanted hair, leaving the transplanted hair that doesn’t appear as natural as you may like.
The grafts that were done several years ago, in all likelihood, may have 5 or more hairs in each, making them too apparent. Today’s technology enables the skilled Surgeon to place micro grafts with 1, 2 and 3 hairs only in the hairline zone and amidst your thinner hair. This process, along with the proper angle, placement and orientation of the recipient sites will create a virtually undetectable result.
Some patients do two or more Hair Transplant procedures over time to create their desired density. Perhaps you are very happy with your hair and simply want more hair. The only limitations are sufficient donor hair, which even today is only attainable from your own scalp, and cost (which may range from $5k-$20k)
A skilled Surgeon can excise older, “pluggy” type grafts, if need be, make them smaller and place them in other areas of the scalp.
